Abstract

Investigations were carried out to evaluate the combustion parameters experimentally for a two-stroke
copper coated (copper of thickness 300 microns was coated on the piston crown and cylinder head) spark ignition engine of brake power 2.2 kW at a speed of 3000 rpm, and were correlated with two-zone and multi-zone combustion models. Multi-zone combustion model gave results very close (deviation being 7%) to experimental values, while two-zone combustion model deviated from actual (experimental) results by 9%.
